Welcome Message

KSEAUK President

Dear Distinguished Europe’s Korean scientists' and engineers' association members, EKC 2013 participants and ladies and gentlemen

I am greatly honoured and pleased to invite you to the 6th EU-Korea Conference (EKC 2013), held at Brighton, one of the most beautiful coastal cities in UK, from 24th to 26th July, 2013. This year marks the 39th anniversary of the Korean Scientists’ and Engineers’ Association in the UK (KSEAUK). The year 2014 is when the KSEAUK will reach the symbolic age of 40 free from vacillation. The KSEAUK has been significantly improved in past decades hosting the conferences twice a year in the UK, where over 1,400 members have come to share their knowledge and experience. The KSEAUK as solid organisation have been acting as bridgehead for promoting cooperation in science and technology between Korea and the UK for the last 39 years. We are truly excited to host EKC 2013 as it will be not only the place where Europe and Korea have opportunity to exchange thoughts and knowledge of science and technology but also place where people from various field can make network with one another.
EKC 2013 has been prepared under the title of “ Science and Technology Closer to Humanity - Open Innovation ”, stressing the collision and integration of ideas to develop creative ideas. Steven Johnson, one of the most well-known innovation missionaries in US, mentioned that “innovation and creative ideas are not produced in a closed research room but in a plaza or in the process of continuously exchanging ideas with other people”.
